    List of FIE-approved (epee) blades?

    Is there
    1) an official site that lists currently FIE-approved blades?
    2) a site with images of the blade markings?

A friend is traveling to the World Vets and wants to stay out of trouble. His armorer doesn't recognize the mark. His supplier swears the blade is approved. This is not the kind of thing that can be settled over the telephone.

http://fie.ch/Fencing/Rules.aspx List is at the bottom of the page in pdf format (masks, too)...you may need to his the "en" link at the top of the page to get it into English.

As for the marks themselves....there IS a site with pics of a lot of the markings, but I don't remember it right now....someone else on the board should.

Can you describe the mark?? There HAVE been blades that have fallen off the list.

Here's the link to the current FIE listing of approved blades. I'm afraid that I can't help with maker's marks.

Thanks....typically, however, the blade I'm thinking of that WAS certified and then fell off the list is not there (Loughansk....symbol in the shield is a circle...1992 is the date)
