I am interested in the new AF transparent mask (AF FIE Visor Mask Foil (2009) w/Conductive Bib). But I can't find the registered certificate approved by FIE. There are only six manufacturers approved by FIE which can produce a transparent mask with conductive bib. (http://www.fie.ch/download/rules/fr/...0v20081218.pdf)
So I want to know whether AF has been entitled to produce such a mask since 2009.

Perhaps the FIE has yet to update their list of approved masks - the current list is now almost 9 months old (which is actually quite recent compared to their list of approved conventional masks) while Absolute's visor masks only appeared on their web site a few days ago.
Why not contact Absolute and ask if they can provide you with a copy of their FIE approval for the mask (I've found them to be pretty good about responding to inquiries). Or try asking the FIE if they are working on an updated list of approved masks.
Hi, I'm the new sales guy at Absolute, I think I can answer you question pretty well. We just got the FIE approval papers for our visor masks last week and they are valid. They haven't updated the FIE list yet but these masks are approved.

Glad to hear it (I'd hate to have to take back all the nice things I've said about Absolute over the years).
As a suggestion, until such time as the FIE gets around to posting an updated list of approved masks (which hopefully won't take too long, but this is the FIE we're talking about) you might consider including a copy of those approval papers with each new mask you sell. While I would certainly hope that anyone working a FIE event would be aware of any recent approvals, not everyone who uses a visor mask is necessarily fencing FIE (some people simply feel the visor allows better visibility). If their local NGB requires FIE gear for local events (which certainly seems possible for users listing their their location as "Stuttgart") this might help to alleviate any concerns.

I'll take it up with Amanda and Gary and see what they think. I don't know if it will be necessary but I'll see what they say.
About what....the list not being updated or the advice to provide the certification until the list is updated? it could also be put up on Absolute's website.
You might ask Eduardo if he's going to allow screwless tips again....there was no real reason to make them illegal that I've ever seen.
The AF Lexan mask is certified. I've seen the CRITT docs. The masks were certified but the FIE listing has not been updated since December 2008 and is scheduled to be updated later on this month.
