There are many different reasons for resignations. Not everyone who resigns does so in disgrace. If they're crooked and corrupt, hang em. Not a problem for me. Sometimes, its just time to go.
Mr Jones on the other hand, never made it out of the gates before his past caught up with him.
The difference here is that Obama has a past record of ties with radical groups and associations with very divisive people. Including racially divisive people. Yet, the whole campaign was based on "uniting". You can deny it or spin it all you want. Van Jones' past was not a secret and included being a member of some pretty radical movements.
When you see these people starting to populate high positions in this administration, gotta wonder where the whole "unity" thing went. To think that they'll just leave their radical positions behind them now that they are part of the administration is ridiculous. As Van Jones helped prove.
Granted, Mr Jones isn't guilty of a crime or criminal indictment. But his views and track record clearly are not in line with the majority of people in this country and I would content not in line with most people who voted for Obama, and clearly don't represent the platform Obama was elected on. Or do they?
Obama was either too naive to think this wouldnt catch up to him, or too arrogant to care. Once again, a political lightweight.
