    2009 Yves Auriol Challenge RYC Oct 24- 25 LAS VEGAS

    Hosted by Fencing Academy of Nevada and Southern Nevada Fencing, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization registered with the United States Fencing Association (USFA). This year we have events in Y10/12/14 and Junior categories. The Youth events qualify as an RYC (Regional Youth Circuit), and the Junior events qualify as JrPCS Circuit (Junior Pacific Coast Section Circuit).

    Preregistration closes on 10/16/2009.
    Late registration closes on 10/22/2009.
    Entries will not be accepted at the door.

    Y14 & Junior events need at least 15 entries and Y10 & Y12 events need at least 6 entries to be fenced separately otherwise events will be fenced mixed.

    Junior events are pending division sanctioning.

    FOOD:
    A snack bar will be available at the venue offering: coffee, water, sport drinks, power bars, sandwitches, chips, etc.

    EVENT FEES:
    Pre-payment is required for pre-registration.
    Now through midnight October 16, 2009 - registration is $30.00 + $25.00 per event.
    From October 17, 2009 through midnight October 22, 2009 - registration $60.00 + $50.00 per event.
    Registration will not be accepted after midnight October 22, 2009.
    To help our tournament run more smoothly, pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

    SIGNED WAIVER REQUIRED
    All fencers must sign a waiver/informed consent form. Those fencers under the age of 18 must have a parent or LEGAL guardian sign the form. No one will be allowed to fence without this completed form.

    USFA RULES APPLY. Current competitive membership of the USFA required (membership will be available at the venue). You must be prepared to show proof of USFA membership or at the door, fill out a membership form and pay $60 - credit card or separate check - NO CASH. Persons under the age of 18 MUST have a parent's signature on this form.

    PRE-REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
    PRE-PAYMENT is required for pre-registration. Fencers may pre-register on line with a credit card on AskFred.net. You will be sent a waiver via email, please print off the WAIVER, which is found at and bring the signed waiver with you to check-in at the tournament. You may also pre-register by mail by printing a copy of these entry pages and mailing the signed registration form and waiver, along with a check made payable to Southern Nevada Fencing to: Southern Nevada Fencing – 284 East Lake Mead Parkway, #272C – Henderson, NV 89015 - Fax: 702.254.5255 . There will be a $25.00 charge on all returned checks.

    Email Confirmations will be sent. If you prefer to receive a confirmation by mail please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with mail in registration, or a preferred email address if different from the one on askFRED.

    If you have difficulty with your pre-registration, please email the organizers and we will take care of it for you.

    AGE CATEGORIES (2009-2010 Season):
    Entry in all events is open to all current USFA competitive members or foreign fencers holding a current FIE card, provided they have a birth year as follows:
    Y10 1999 - 2002
    Y12 1997 - 2000 or Y10 NRPS
    Y14 1995 - 1998 or Y12 NRPS
    J20 1989 - 1998 or Y14 NRPS

    EQUIPMENT POLICIES:
    All events will be electric. Equipment checks will consist of masks, body cords and lames. Sabre cuffs and underarm protectors are REQUIRED. An equipment vendor will be available at the tournament.

    TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
    Y10/Y12 Events: One round of pools, 5-touch bouts with a 3-minute time limit. 100% advancing to DE of 2 out of 3 5 touche bouts, no repêchage, no fence off for 3rd.

    Y14/J20 Events: One round of pools, 5-touch bouts with a 3-minute time limit. 100% advancing to DE of 15 touches, no repêchage, no fence off for 3rd.

    Initial seeding, seeding after pools and final placements will be posted in the venue. Fencers are responsible for verifying the posted lists, and signing their pool and DE sheets. Initial seeding will be based on national point standings followed by classification and year.

    Classification Changes:
    Must be submitted by Tuesday, October 13, 2009 to Colleen at foilandepeemom@cox.net, please include your name, weapon earning the new classification, date, location of the tournament and website where results can be found. Classifications earned at the October NAC will be updated accordingly.

    Refund Policy:
    For refund of event fee(s), withdrawals must be submitted in writing to Colleen at foilandepeemom@cox.net by the Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Registration fees are nonrefundable.

    Merchandise:
    T-shirts will be available at the venue but the supply is limited. Preorder with your entry to insure availability.
