Compilation Video i was watching a few videos trying to find similarities and differences between counterattacks of a certain fencer between his bouts and thought this would be so much easier if i put them all together in one video. i thought maybe you guys might benefit from something like this, like a whole bunch of dumitrescu attacks, or a whole bunch of pillet parries to help figure out the timing and distance of them, etc. i wanted to try one and see how much you guys liked it so i wanted to ask what you all wanted the first video i try should be. post your suggestions here and fight amongst yourselves and i will let you know what i decide to do -

Whoever has some good counter attacks, since it'd be a good reference for people who need to work on their reffing, i.e. me.
Or a Lopez compilation cause he's cute.
I'm may be willing to bear your children for that one. -
well lopez is my favorite so i definitely have enough footage to compile his counterattacks, and even though i am not a huge fan of italian fencing i definitely have enough to compile his attacks because he tends to do well. anyone else want to make a suggestion?

That Guy
Array That's a good idea. Start out with the counterattacks since you've already got that in your head.
I'd actually like to see a bunch of how Ota closes the distance and works those touches in foil.

Array Definitely Tagliarol's footwork preparations if you were to do one for men's epee. Thanks a million for everything you've done to boost the amount of quality [and free] fencing videos available online! -
i should have been more specific in that i wanted to do one for sabre, i dont think i have enough of any one epee or foil fencer for it to be worth it. its true that i have all of the olympic footage from my site, but seeing how someone fences in one tournament tells you very little about them. i will work on two videos: one of lopezs counterattacks and one of montanos attacks. i will post them here when i am done. suggestions would still be appreciated, because if you guys like these then i will do some more based on what you want -
I realize I'm late on the draw here, but I just want to throw the idea out there:
I'd like to see a comparison between Igoe (USA), Buikevich (BLR) and Limbach (GER) - that or content on any one of them.
All tall guys with long arms who are posting solid results - how do their counterattacks, parries, distance actions, and marches/attacks compare? Would be interesting. -
the video is done. sorry for the delay, finding and compiling the footage takes quite a while, especially when you are working 8 hours a day and have friends staying with you. i will get started on the video of montanos trample/stampede attack

Array Fascinating. The only thing I'd like to see more of is when it doesn't work, which would give a better idea of how he makes it happen--the one example looked as if his distance was just too close.
I'll watch this a few times. Thanks so much for making it! "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -
CyrusOfChaos, the video shows up as private for me. Could you send me invite to watch?
Thanks

Array Huh. I watched it last night without issue, now it's "private".
I'm curious why you say that his arm seldom goes up when he countercuts, but rather just back---then show a clip of him doing a classic skyhook with his arm going way, way up? Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Array Andrew, I'm not sure you know what a stop-cut means.
Funky music, though. I like it. -

Array Not that it would be particularly instructive/useful for us humans, but I think a compilation of keeth smart's long attacks would be groovy. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

I've much better understanding of his direction control triggered by the quick reversal of the center of gravity's movement. Randal : [after the fire at the Quick Stop] Terrorists?
