Wow, very interesting. I wish there was a way to see the action in super slow motion. Perhaps its my aging eyes, but the action is so fast I can't follow it (well, I see his hand move, but I cant see the hit).

The technique is interesting though. When I do stop cuts (and I am very new to this) I tend to remain stationary (bad idea). The fact that he is retreating while delivering a lightning touch from the top makes good sense. Just wish I could see it

    Edit:

If you right-click on the video, you are given the option to watch it on YouTube, where you can then set it for high quallity and full screen. It helped alot with following the action more closely.

A compilation of long attacks (I would love to see keeth smart's, but aldo montano works too) would make a nice addition. Also a compilation of whoever has a particularly nasty parry-riposte would be pretty interesting. Lukashenko comes to mind but maybe because my mind is stuck 3-4 years in the past

One thing I LOVE are Pillet's long attacks, I find the way they escalate to be beautiful, and that last reach that he throws in just seems to go on forever.

Rather than showing another french fencer or an american (although strong), I think it would do the public better service to show the top man in his sport at the moment from another country-- Montano. I vote for Montano's attacks.

I also think it would be interesting to take a video like you did of Lopez's counter-attacks and show how fencers who beat him fence a man like Lopez. The timing of how or when on the strip to finish your attack against him. This could turn tactical and get really interesting ona breakdown of some fencer's styles.

Cyrus has by far the highest ratio of total posts to absurdly useful content of any f.net member. I can't give him any more rep, so instead I have to make a post and make my ratio even worse than it is =)

    Thanks Cyrus!

As everyone else says, great video.

I would actually like to see more slow motion action of the moment before the stop cut; I'd like to see a really slow replay showing Lopez's setup and his opponent's reaction, specifically how their hand and foot move at the last moment.

I'd also like to see situations where the counter attack fails as a comparison point to the successful ones.

ok well i am almost done with the montano video. i am going to be extraordinarily busy the next two days so i hope to finish it and get the video up wednesday night

several people have suggested what they want my next video to be. among them are pillets parries, pillets attacks, keeths attacks, lopezs failed counterattacks. even though i would love to do all of these, i simply do not have the time right now i would appreciate if you could agree on a one thing for me to do and i will do that one next. when i have more time on my hands, or i dont feel like doing homework at college, i will get be more lenient on accepting requests. when i am done on wednesday night, i will post the video here, then take a look at the thread and figure out what i am doing next
