Mayans say: Don't make long term plans...

Looks like the end of the world as we know it is fast approaching! DOOM! DOOM! GLOOM! RUN and HIDE

The ancient Mayans predicted the end of the world on Dec. 21, 2012. Just read the following books and they'll tell you ALL about it!
    Apocalypse 2012

oh, and look for the new movie starring John Cusack this fall...
Anyone planning an end of the world party should start planning now or all the good venues will be taken!

If anyone is willing to sign a legal document granting me full ownership of all their worldly possessions (property, money, equity, stocks, bonds, valuables, etc) effective December 22, 2012, let me know.

I'll have the papers out to you post haste.

If you don't want to do the above, then plainly you have nothing to fear.

Actually, the 22nd is a much more likely day for the end of the world. But you can still have the 21st as the last full day for partying, shopping, or general mayhem.

21st is on a Friday (just checked) and we all know that the only thing that ends on a Friday is most people's work week (mine does at any rate).

Pffft! The Maya said the same thing the LAST time a Long Count ended. As I recall, nothing much happened then, either. Of course, I wasn't in the Americas then. But still.

Frankly, by their cosmology the world should have ended when the human sacrifices dwindled to the point where they would no longer preserve it.

However, I will still party like it's Baktun 13.0.0.0.0, just in case.

Sure it did. Obviously the Pray part influenced first the Supreme Court and then voting machines across America to let him Stay.

Yes... Well... The reason Y2K was a "yawn" is that a lot of people spent a lot of time repairing the short-sighted programming techniques implemented in the decades prior to that.

Only 10 people will be able to attend the party because the drinks will be too expensive and the room will be too small.

But that's only because no one wanted to use their web service to pre-register! How can they POSSIBLY negotiate a good deal on the party if everyone refuses to use there services?

Looking to buy a new world just because the calendar ends? hummm.. Well, I have an existing world available. Only lightly used by ecologically concious inhabitants who outgrew their world and moved into an adjoining galaxy just a few millenium ago. They are letting it go cheap because the cost of maintaining two worlds is cutting into their recreational budget...
