Team Epee Fencing in NE Division?

So my teammates and I had a total blast at the Pomme de Terre team event. Eager for more, I asked a local tournament organizer if they'd ever held team events. To my dismay, he said they had, and almost nobody showed up. The Pomme de Terre however had 18 men's epee teams, so I have to believe that there is some interest. I stuck upon this idea...

What about a Men's Epee (Or mixed) team league in New England? I was thinking it would go something like this:

Each team would need a home club, but would not have to be all club members, to allow for friends from different clubs to team up. College squads are welcome, provided they wouldn't create too much scheduling problems. A schedule would be created with a match window every two to three weeks with a home and away team. The captains of each team would be responsible for scheduling the match, probably during open fencing for the home team. The home team would be responsible for obtaining a referee. As a courtesy, it would be nice if the home club waived floor fees for the visiting team members. Both captains would be responsible for reporting the results to the league organizer. Final placement could be decided either by league results, or a championship or both.

Would anyone be interested in something like this?

Wow, we're planning something just like that for the SF Bay Area. For epee, too. For mixed-member teams, too. For league play, too. Except it will be four teams showing up at a location. Team A vs B while C vs D, then A vs C and B vs D. If enough time, A vs D, B vs C. Two refs, 3 hours work, $60 each ref. Or something like that.

Team tournamets are amazingly fun. I could see something where we organized a tournament every 3 months or so, with a nice trophey at the end.

$60 for a ref would be a severe salary downgrade for the NE division, though

How many teams do you think could be scraped together in Men's epee? Also, do you know of any formats besides straight DE that take a reasonable amount of time? It'd be nice if all teams could have at least one competitive bout. My team has been lucky enough to get them in the two team competitions we've been in, but I could see some teams not wanting to participate in (and pay for) tournaments where they are just going to get thrown up against a vastly superior team, then go home.

Is fence for every place feasible? I think given a power of two number of teams, they all get the same number of bouts. For 8 teams, I think you'd need 4 refs doing 3 bouts a piece.

Yes, or something like that. The current strawfencer proposal being poked at involves:

    -- Team epee events

-- Usual team relay match format

-- Using some sort of league style for the setting up the matches along with a limit to the number of matches per night. Big DE style competitions just don't look workable for many reasons.

-- Team standings and detailed match results to be posted online for glory, shame and data analysis opportunities

-- Some donations for a cool (perpetual?) trophy have been pledged. Need a good name for it though.

-- Not USFA sanctioned. There's no real advantage to sanctioning seen, but several disadvantages. We want to avoid any potential club representation problems for people. We also have a number of good epeeists in the area who aren't USFA members including a bunch of former As and Bs.

-- Team composition is completely up to the teams. No restrictions at all as to which club(s), if any, a team's members are from, their genders, how they book their hotels rooms, etc.

-- Team composition can vary between league matches.

-- Once a fencer fences for a league team during the season (whatever a season turns out to be), they can only fence for that team for the remainder of the season.

That means visitors to the area can guest fence on a team if they find a team that's open to the idea but only one team can use Kolobkov per season.

I thought there's a minimum of 4 hours at the hotel or they charge double. At least that's what they say at the Glass Slipper.
