All of those videos ARE on YouTube. CyrusofChaos received written permission from NBC to upload all of the Olympic fencing footage and has done so.

I also recall that at the BOD meeting in September '08, Andrea Legan said that we had received a set of (some huge number) DVD's containing all the feeds from all five strips from Bejing. I seemed to get the impression this included footage that was not broadcast.

Or am I recalling incorrectly? Any word on what happened to this priceless trove?
That's it, I'm done with the discussion forums on F.net. It's had its uses, but the ideologues, ranters, and "experts" have drowned too many of the conversations. I'm changing my password to something random and never logging in again.

I think all of the footage was webcast and should all be in the material that CyrusofChaos has now posted.

I think it totaled something like 92 DVDs in the format in which US Fencing was given it. Some rights of distribution, although I don't have details. I think it has to be in association with an official activity (such as the PASO clinic), but has few other restrictions. I don't believe that US Fencing can just start pressing DVDs and selling them online, for instance.

The DVDs are currently in the office in Colorado.

Although they could, theoretically, be included as a goodie bag for the professional membership category?
    au revoir

I have not seen the terms that came with them so cannot answer this definitively.

He does? His only index containing Olympic bouts I know if is this:

    http://www.fencingvideos.net/site/fe...video-database

There's no WE and no WF, and I don't think it includes all the taped prelims of the other weapons either. It's certainly not all the Olympic fencing footage. Am I looking in the wrong place?

It takes a fair amount of time to process and upload the footage. They appear to have slipped off of the weapon-every-3-to-5-days-or-so schedule from last May. The schedule they'd originally published would have had everything posted by around the middle of Summer Nationals.

Dropping them a note requesting more footage might have the results you want, or at least the finals bouts (what is on the PASO DVDs).
