Connie, why don't they count Division I points in Cadet any more? -
Another though imperfect option, would be to do the same for ME/MF/MS and WS as for WE and WF. Allow an unlimited amount of fencers to attend cadet designated events and anyone who has attended a Y14 or cadet is eligible.
Seeding will be off a little for the October and November NAC's but the big difference between rolling and team points won't matter for cadet designate selections. -

Hi Connie,Thank you. Could you tell us who is part of this process now and who decided to make these changes and have them tell us why and what the reasoning behind the changes were? -

I'm not sure who made the actual decision, but the person to send your questions/concerns/issues/etc. to is Mike Pederson, High Performance Director.

Array When will the Vet points update be posted? -

Corinne, did you send the national office the youth points with the older fencers removed?
They should be posted Aug. 1, correct? -

They should be posted Aug. 1, correct? I haven't sent them yet, so they won't be up tomorrow. I'm doing the youth age out this weekend and they will have them Monday morning when they get into the office.

Checking for those beginning of season youth points and noted the New Classification Chart. On another thread I mentioned that despite the requirement that youth events "must meet or exceed criteria for C1 to award changes in classification" it appears that this is not the case for national events such as Summer Nationals and NACs. The response from senior members of this blog is that there is an exception to this rule for national events. Assuming that this is correct, why doesn't the rules committee make this clear on the New Classification Chart? -
Division, Section and Regional Youth and Cadet competitions must meet or exceed criteria for C1 to
award changes in classification
Note that that rule applies to DIVSION, SECTION and REGIONAL competitions. Therefore it does not apply to NATIONAL competitions. -

Must learn not to rely too heavily on Fred's version of the chart.... Are SYCs counted as "national" tournaments? -

When the cadet points are finally posted, hopefully the criteria that was used to determine the points, will also be published. -
Is there currently a new Handbook that will change the way rolling and team points are calculated for all weapons, or are only some weapons and/or age categories to be affected?[/QUOTE]
