Body Cord regulations I recently shortened one of my friends body cords because he is really young and short. I wasn't aware however that the cord had to be a certain length. Does anyone know the lengths for a bodycord to be considered regulation?? -

Does anyone know the lengths for a bodycord to be considered regulation?? The only length requirement I know of off the top of my head is on the A line on a foil cord....there must be at least 40cm of free line between the wire end of the clip and where ever it ends up. Prieur's the worst offender...they only pull about 3-4 inches of line apart....but that's fixed simply by pulling the rest of it apart.
The purpose of the A line length is to minimize the chance that the clip could be pulled off by twisting the body.
Aside from the max 1 ohm resistance per line, that's all I've got. Generally cords come out 6 feet long. -

Array Yeah, I just checked, and the 40cm free on the A line is the only length mentioned. Of course, it has to be long enough to reach from the weapon to the clip + reel end in all positions. -
Thanks for the info, I've been looking for body cord length regulations as well, and finally found the answer here - thanks. Amy Taylor
