Sabre Blades? Hey guys I am looking to buying a new blade for my sabre and I am looking to getting a very light blade (160g and below) that is strong and durable, with good control. Not too bendy.
Care to help me out? Which blades are good? -

Array Most people seem to use the S+M blades. Ask your vendor to pick one out to match your description, if you can't go to a big tournament like an NAC to handle them yourself... Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Care to help me out? Which blades are good? Don't want much, do you? My experience is that there is a range of variation between blades of the same kind made by the same manufacturer. They are made by human beings, not Gods.
At times vendors have let me do a little bending of the blades of the same type. I do have good luck picking out the ones that work the way I want them to. If you order single blades for delivery, prayer and luck is about the only things that help. Whoopee! My avatar is back. -

Array I found this to be a decent blade at a good price. If you decide you don't like it, you're not out much. I havent weighed one, but they seem light enough to me. Some kids, when you meet him you just know you're not going to like his mother. ~Maurice Sendak -

Array Sounds like you are looking for an LM Saber blade. I have one and it is light, not very bendy and has a wonderful feel for point attacks and taking very solid blocking parries. And taken in conjunction with what the previous poster linked to, you have pretty much the full range of cost and quality! At least if we are not including maraging blades. Anyway, that link is here and the LM blade is 3rd from the bottom. Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

i've been using Leon Paul colored blades all along. The gold ones and the blue ones that weigh 150g? Yeah. Those. Anyhow, how do you all think about them? The website says they have short lives but then I've been using them pretty long already. AND, i fence ALOT. -

At the previous price points of $45 LMs and $25 StMs, I wouldn't consider LM. For a 30/40 difference, I think the LM are worth it if you're picky.
As to durability, most people seem to be of the opinion that most saber blades last about the same as others. -
I have a Fleche Y Light saber which is super light and also rather stiff. I haven't had it for very long, but it seems to be a pretty nice blade. Blade/Fencesmart carries them. Similar Threads -
