Budapest FIE EC meeting: what was decided?

From the FIS web site, adapted to "our" situation:

    http://www.federscherma.it/news.asp?i=73680&s=7

On June 27, The EC the FIE EC met in Budapest, Alisher Usmanov as chair.

In this meeting the program was finalized for the senior World Championships in Antalya (TUR), from September 30 to October 8. The new format of these championships divides the event in three phases of 3 days each:
    • individual eliminations,
    • individual finals (T64), and
    • team events.

President of the DT, Raniero Bernardini (ITA). Dan De Chaine (USA) as SEMI rep and Ariana Klinkov (USA) as referee.

For the FIE Congress in Palermo (ITA) in November, the voting will be done using electronic (not paper) votes.

It makes more sense to directly read the FIE's version of what happened.

I'd say the calendar discussion is more significant than that for the schedule at Worlds.

I made the reserve list for referees. Not too bad and appreciate the recognition but would love to get the opportunity.

Yes. Looks like they want to cut number of competitions almost in half:
3 Grand Prix instead of 5
5 World Cups instead of 9
Sad to see that a lot of WCs with long history will be no more...

Especially sad for ME, which already lost a number of WCs starting with 2004-2005 season (London, Bratislava, Budapest, Barcelona, Havana, Innsbruck)

The FIE report says nothing about reductions in the number of Junior World Cups. Are we to assume that for 2010-2011 there will be fewer JWC in all weapons?
