It's like "On Star", except instead of helping you when you're lost, in an accident or did something dumb like locking yourself out of your car it helps you with your fencing. It activates automatically when the button gets depressed hard, such as when you land on your head or throw your mask... you'll hear in a British accent "don't do that".

If you find yourself having trouble in a bout you tap it twice, before going enguard and it activates the "hands free" feature. Soon you'll have access to hundreds of years of the Paul family's advice on fencing... and beer drinking.

A wonderful feature. I've used it myself many times.... hang on... what's that mask? You say I should head off to the pub, for a pint? You realize I don't drink beer... oh... you say it'll make me a better fencer... alright, I guess I need to errr... train.

I prefer an aluminum epee hat. It covers the entire body and doesn't require RoW to protect the wearer against Team LP.

I checked my masks last night for these. Craig has set the record straight that they are used for sizing.

    Leon-Paul non-FIE = round rivet (fits well)
Leon-Paul FIE = round rivet (fits well)
Allstar FIE = square rivet (too tight)
El-Cheapo Mask, don't know manufacturer = No Rivet

All masks are less than two years old.

So while they are used to denote size, it's not consistent across all manufacturers.

My LP mask size L has the exact same ring. If your mask is a size L - then hopefully the mystery is solved!

Sorry for the late reply, this slipped my notice.

Bingo, it is there to denote size as it is hard to tell them apart until the label goes on right at the end of the manufacturing process. A small square means small, nothing means medium,a small round washer as is on yours meand large and two round ones mean extra large.

We have had masks sent back as defective before when people have thought that we used the washer to coveer a broken wire in the mesh!!

Then why not stamp an actual letter? Also....there's no way sizing can be even guessed at with the marked you use...at least with the Prieur there's some logic (a triange being a 3, a square a 4)

Oh sure, it's "just for size" so there's no need to remove it. C'mon Alex - I've disclosed the true, evil purpose there. The only question that remains is: what part of the M masks are you using to hide the microchip?

Thanks Alex for clarification. I actually was afraid this could be the case... It would be a good idea to put this kind of information on your website as that was where I was first looking

The logic is mediums sell most so we put nothing on them as that costs us less!

Aletter would have to ba a plaque welded on and then stamped which would me a bigger plaque, more metal, more welds etc...

They are not there for end users who can check on the label inside so we havn't seen an need to make them logical.

Even if the mask said had stamped letter M for medium it would not help unless some one knew what size head a Leon Paul medium fits. The Size as Alex said is in the internal CEN labeling.

On the FiO0 yellow washer on top means small, blue medium, red large and black extra large.

    P.S. Craig

The micro chip is in the plastic contour fit disk, you need to get close to the brain for the mind control system to work.(but don't tell every one.)
