On the flip side, because we will UNDOUBTEDLY be there past 7pm refereeing, we will be given a food voucher.

Based on the likely price of food at the venue, and the proximity to local eateries, that may be one of the few days I DO get dinner out there.

    Confirmed Entry List Question

I see that for D2WF there is a girl registered with an A08 rating. According to the Athlete Handbook. the qualification for D2 @ SN is:
Fencers must have a classification in the weapon of “C”, “D”, “E” or Unclassified at the time of the qualifying competition AND meet age requirements as above AND –
    - Place in the top 25% of the current season’s Division Qualifying competition (see Chapter 2 .7 for detailed chart) (USFA BOD Sept 2006)
    - Qualified for Division IA, if classification eligible. [Board of Directors, September 2008].
Can anyone see a reasonable way that an A08 rated fencer could meet these criteria? I could see how an A09 might have gotten the rating after the qualifier, but not an A08.

Her division held qualifiers in 08 or her division held qualifiers in 09 but her new rating had not yet made it into the database so at the time of the tournament she was still eligible to fence in it according to her currently reported USFA rating
What's the "real" world again? I don't think I can see it from my window

Both of those scenarios seemed possible, though unlikely. Further investigation indicates she had an A07 before her A08, so unless her division held its SN 2009 Qualifiers in 2007 ...

It's very likely a data entry error... they probably meant to type DV1WF instead of DV2WF. The fencer in question has senior points, making her eligible for DV1WF... so I think that's most likely what happened.

Data entry errors are common - I've seen men listed in the women's events and vice-versa. It gets fixed eventually, usually when the fencer notices or someone emails them to let them know (hint, hint.)

We've even noticed certain devout sabre fencers appearing on the epee list...

Is it me, or it does indeed seem like quite a few more entries than last year in Team, Div1 and Juniours?

    Just to Make sure....

our first SN. Y12 MF. the schedule says July 4 (7-8). to me that means that they will "check in" all 190 entrants during that 1 hour time frame. excuse my ignorance, just dont want to blow it......

    appreciate the guidance

Seeing as there was no D1 at SN last year, there allmost has to be an increase I would guess that the there were D1 teams at portland that didnt go to SN last year aswell. Likely the largest bump is the fact that its closer to more fencers. There are folks that will travel to tx that wont go all the way across the country.

That is correct, You will need to check in for the event. Also you will need to get your equipment checked by the armorers. Ideally you will get in early enough on the 3rd to do this then.
    Good Luck

If it's your first then you may also want to read through this thread.

It may be a few years old, but the basic guidance hasn't changed all that much.
