Research Study: Data Analysis in Fencing

Dear Fencers,

I am conducting a study on the effects of data analysis on fencing performance. This study may give us insight into the ability for performance data to play a larger role in training and competitive performance.

I am actively seeking research subjects, who will be asked to:

  1. Review a consent form (attached)
  2. Record data on their overtime matches from tournaments in which they participate
Will take approximately 1 minute of time after any match that goes into an overtime period
  3. Enter their overtime match data into an online form after the tournament
Will take 1-5 minutes per tournament
  4. Receive data analysis on the results of the data
  5. Take an online survey at the conclusion of the research
    Will take approximately 10 minutes

The study will last for 2-3 months. I estimate the total time for each subject during the research will be less than 2 total hours.
Subjects must be:

·
18 years of age or older
· English speaking
· Members of the United States Fencing Association
· Able to regularly access the internet to submit data

There is no incentive or reimbursement for this study.

If interested in participating in this research which may benefit the fencing community, please contact me at bartlettjonathan@gmail.com

Thank You
Jonathan Bartlett
