Array Describe fencing Greetings all.
We are moving our club over to the local YMCA. They have asked for a description of Fencing to give out to prospective students and other Y members (bear in mind that this is Montana, where fencing usually means barbed wire).
Any suggestions? A link to a general, short description of fencing would be great. I'm just drawing a blank on writing up something short and sweet to describe our sport to someone who's never heard of it.

Secure a copy of Sports Illustrated's Book of Fencing 1st Ed., Lippincott; 1962. 62-11345 Library of Congress. 90 pages in length.
This is the most succinct text on the art of fencing , with excellent illustrations by Edward Vebell.
If you can locate a copy of this text, you will not be disappointed.
