Array True... as far as travel, I'm not sure the best method to approach that. As far as housing, I was wondering if they could not use the already published numbers of average housing costs and standard of living in whatever area they are from?
EDIT: Basically, whatever numbers can be found from a source other than the politicians themselves, use it as a benchmark for spending. "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

Still, depressing times over here. I skipped over the 'who gets blamed' part - it'll be interesting to see who loses more by this conflict.
I just had to respond to to the last part, which was historically the reverse: used to be you had to be in the moneyed class to be an MP, let alone in House of Lords. My, how things have changed.
Yes, it is depressing. Didn't Major get swept out on a 'get rid of the sleaze' tide too?
I also agree with your comments comparing to the US (but it means more coming from you than from a Yank like me). Sure as heck we have corruption and greed in government, but a system of checks and balances in a "nation of laws" does help. Fox News has an article concerning how some of our congresscritters are spending their allocations. -
