They could have easily moved either the D2 or D3 WF events onto a weekday and swapped in a MF event to be fair. -

I guess it's disheartening because I don't live in an area with the opportunity to attend large tournaments regularly without air travel. It would have been nice to be able to drive to a NAC for once, but I will almost definitely skip this one. -

The problem is having four day national events, two weekend and two work/school days. (Monday is not a holiday for much of the country.) -

Because most hotels allow you to book and then modify the reservation up to a few days in advance - I can book my hotel today if I want - as long as I know the general dates I will be needing the room. I can scope out deals and then as soon as the day schedule comes out, I book my flights and modify the hotel rooms - easy as pie. It also lets me look to see what else is nearby should I want to stay an extra day or so for visiting, sightseeing, etc.
----then again - if I book all my rooms now, like I usually would, - will I have to cancel them and re-book with THS lest my registration be cancelled?? Does booking before THS has their options available = a "waiver"?? hmmm........ As the dates are available for the next few years - maybe I can beat THS for the next 5 years!!!!

Array sorry schedule No one can think that it makes any sense to have Div3 Mens Foil on Friday and not have Div2 Mens Foil until Monday. Why not put Cadet on Saturday and the Div 2 on Sunday and Div 3 on Monday? " ... or spend fifty years learning to begin to learn to beat your adversary at fencing. After that you can start on mathematics, until it is time to learn to plough.” White, T.H. The Once and Future King (emphasis added) -

THS will gladly provide luxury accommodations for you and your loved one in the beautiful Des Moines Rodeway Inn for the discount price of $119.99/night (only $40 above the rate offered to the general public).
Enjoy the Rodeway Inn's comfortable, spacious rooms with their trademark STD-Stop mattresses, its scenic view of I-35 (the Cement Mississippi), it's luxurious, new one-piece shower stalls with water-saving heads and "green-friendly" towels, its on-property dining (at the luxurious Po' Folks Buffet), and its lively nightlife (this week featuring "Remembering the Kings" - A Retrospective Honoring the Memories of The King and The King of Pop - a Rodeway Inn exclusive).

Why not put Cadet on Saturday and the Div 2 on Sunday and Div 3 on Monday? It makes all the sense in the world: Div II/III fencers will stay the whole long weekend, making it virtually a requirement to stay at hotels for 4 nights. Got to go visit wonderful Des Moines during the free time on the weekend. Have a scoop of ice cream. Tip some cows. Bite into a fresh ear of corn.... -
