New fencer with some questions Hello all. I started fencing with my college club team in February and have been sticking with it, and as the summer approaches I've decided I want to continue my interest. As I start looking into joining clubs, does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for? I'm a bit worried because I don't have my own equipment, and I don't particularly want to buy my own because A. I'm a student with no reliable income and B. I want to get more experience with different weapons before I decide to really commit to it. Are there clubs that offer equipment rental?
Also, I'll be in the Washington D.C. area over the summer (specifically, about 15 minutes north of Leesburg, if anyone knows where that is). Does anyone know any good clubs that might be willing to deal with a newbie of my level in the area? I don't necessarily want professional coaching, but I do want somewhere I can get a few pointers and try out different weapons.
Thanks in advance! -

Array If you go to DCFC you can get epee/sabre fencing. They don't have much foil.
If you can afford it, it would be beneficial to buy your own jacket, knickers, plastron (and glove if you can manage it) ... you can borrow the other things most likely. I occasionally find myself at DCFC, and I've borrowed a mask there before. They'd probably loan me a weapon as well. If you can't buy any equipment, I'm sure they would also have something to lend you. Best if you stop buy and visit or call them. It's a good club, I recommend it. http://dcfencing.com/ here's the website for more information!! -Kat (\__/)
