Does Caucasian America owe financial reparations to today's Black America due to systemic inequality that still exists today?
I think they do. I think, with rare exception, that Black America doesnt have the same opportunities, that America isn't as colorblind as it should be.
Very little was accomplished with Affirmative Action; if we can't accomplish it with legislation, can we do it financially?
Time had a wonderful article years back about the 'browning' of America. The growing Latino population and blacks have significantly colored what was once a white landscape.
Personally I think it time the white man pays financial retribution for the 'trail of tears', slavery, and to the Asians for their treatment building the InterContinental Railroad.
I also think the white man doesnt want to pay because they'd owe a LOT of money, and to too many 'creditors'.
Actually, I rather agree with fatfencer. If you look at the statistics, it is obvious that Black America is at a gross disadvantage due to their lack of inherited wealth. They still haven't been able to work themselves out of that hole.
The native American community seems like it could use help as well, but they are allowed casinos, and that income has brought a lot of money to many larger native "tribes" and departments.
As for the Asian community, I haven't heard much about it, but I'm not so sure that they're in dire need of a financial retribution for the transcontinental railroad fiasco.

Instead of fighting so hard for reparations for blacks (which by the way is never going to happen and in my opinion is unnecessary at this point since the African Americans living today were NOT slaves! Counter-intuitive perhaps since I am African American, but my believe nonetheless. Reparations should have been given to the freed slaves and their children.) why don't you volunteer somewhere. I sure someone will welcome your "charity".
