hi, back after a long absence

Hi everyone. I have returned to fencing after a 7 year break away, mainly cause I love it, but also to remove some flab! I am down in little old New Zealand, where fencing is a TINY sport, but hopefully getting bigger...
Anyway good to be here on this fine forum!

I am a Swede, but I visited NZ North Island a few years ago, and attended 2-3 training evenings with the NZFA in Auckland, when they had their place close to the horse racing arena. If you visit them, say hi to everyone! Anyway, I keep telling people that there is no place on the whole world which has such a concentration of natural beaty/square kilometer as NZ, one would have to take bits from all over Europe and then some to recreate NZ.

    Have a nice time!

Hej Peter. Thats where I used to fence!! With Barry, Laura, Alex, Sarah etc etc...
Small world really! They have since moved further south, so I am attending a club in the city. NZ is a beautiful place, but Sverige is fantastic too!

Welcome Neil! I agree with Peter. NZ is gorgeous and I would love to travel there one day. Have fun on Fnet and with your return to the sport.

Ps: love the NZ accent esp after watching Flight of the Concords over and over again.

Hahaha Thanks! Its really funny actually, every time I am in the USA I get asked which part of the UK I am from... FOTC is genius, there's a lot in that show that you probably wouldn't get unless you were a kiwi or had lived here for a while!
    Cheers.

Yep, thats genius!! The Aussie accent is a lot harsher than the Kiwi one... but all the Aussies will say we sound a little bit retarded probably.

Flight of the Conchords is elite comedy - it actually is the first show to ever redeem a whole country.

Are you more Bret or Jemaine?

(For those that don't know there are only two types of kiwi's - big ugly weird ones or small frail weird ones)

Hahahahahahaaaa!! I don't know, probably more Jemaine according to my better half...

it is true genius, I saw them years ago before anyone knew who they were at our comedy awards thing we have down here each year, even then everyone thought they were hilarious.

    more new zealanders for me.

So how do you pick up girls there - do you barter for them with their fathers with like cotton and rum - do you hypnotize them by softly rubbing their bellies until they fall into a chicken like trance - or do you simply point at them and than point at the spot on the floor next to you?

Hahaha, well most females around here are extremely strong willed, so i doubt the third option would work, but you could give it a go... I have to say Kiwi girls are a bit of an enigma, probably why i ended up with an American!

Heya Neil, which part of NZ are you in?

I'm in the intermittently sunny Hamilton and have been training for about 16months, although I get up to Auckland occasionally for tournaments (Fenton Epee in 8 hours, and I can't sleep)

Perhaps I'll run into you some time, have a bout

    Hey Rob,
I'm up in Auckland. I presume you're training with Karl Snell down there? I am on my way to the Fenton Epee too, just for the foil though...
    Cheers,
    Neil

of course neil only fences foil - he's a legit dude - dont try to corrupt him with your boy hungry epee nonsense.

Neil is going to ship me a box full of hot new zealand girls.

(hes going to remember to leave some air holes this time - the last shipment I received was "unpleasant")
