See askFRED for info on prizes (reproduction weapons) and directions. I think you left a digit off the link. This looks like the correct link: http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.p...nament_id=8441 -

Nannette I just wish you guys held this event on Sunday instead of Saturday. I'm a sucker for a replica sword. -
I'm not sure if the facility is open on Sundays. It is not my home club. Just trying to help out another club in our division. I'll let Gary know that he has a request for a Sunday event next year. Who knows? Take care.

Array 8 a.m. is not good for me... ever. -
Not being a morning person myself, I agree. It takes a *lot* of coffee to keep me awake at that hour. The hours are determined by the facility where the club is located. Now if my daughter had her way, there would be an all night fencing club located within walking distance and she could fence all night. -

Nannette The FRED link says there will be 16 replicas if at least 32 people pre-reg. What happens if we end up somewhere between now (17 people) and that threshold? 8? 0?
What are the replicas like? What are the top couple like?

I talked to the organizer and this is what he said, "Tell them we are doing 8+1. The weapons are a couple of Claymores, Cavalry swords and fantasy swords. They can call me (Gary Rusen, head of Leb-Y Fencing Club) at 717 926 4828 and I will answer questions. Medals for top 8 places. First place picks first and so on down to eight. We then put the remaining fencers names in a hat and pick. The top eight ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for the lottery sword!"
Hope that answers your questions.

I guess that means I should bring extra coffee with me on Saturday morning! lol!

results on askFRED The Tom Dan results are now on askFRED. It was a great tournament. Thanks to all who fenced, refed or helped. The lottery sword went to Robert Cisneros (who promptly handed over to his son, David ~ ain't kids great!). Thanks again to all. Similar Threads -
