Since I'm a huge comic book nerd, I have a tendency to ponder what would happen if I placed comic book heroes into real life situations. This time I asked myself "who would win in a fencing match?" Magneto, the master of magnetism, or The Flash, the fastest man alive. Both have amazing powers, very different from each other (done on purpose, as to not devolve into a debate over who is a better superhuman), and both would easily cream any normal human in a match.
Now for all you specificity freaks out there
The Magneto I'm referring to is the pre-House of M series post Clone Joseph crisis
Complete control of metal at the molecular level
control of magnetic fields on a global scale,
wears tights.
The Flash I'm referring to is the Pre-Crisis silver age Flash, Barry Allen
Can move faster than the speed of light,
can time travel to certain important periods that share certain vibrational frequencies,
Can "melt" into a puddle and reappear at will (yes, I know, weird, but true),
Can phase through objects by vibrating at supersonic speeds,
is not affected by wind resistance,
Can manipulate wind with super fast hand movements (up to hurricane force winds),
wears tights.

I forgot to mention, Captain America would be their ref. He has peak human senses, but not superhuman. Also, please don't remind me he died. I'm still in mourning.

I don't know that Flash could get through Maggie's magnetic shields, regardelss of speed or vibration.
Magneto, on the other hand, could deflect Barry's blade with magnetic ease. If he can somehow slow Flash down or find a way to dirct his blade toward target, he'd score.
Galactus would just stomp them both, however....literally...
Flash. But only after tricking Magneto into using Robby Reeds H dial.

"Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Magneto. It's hard to fence against someone who can make every weapon you bring to the strip fail weight, or lock your tip in place so it can't be depressed.
Magneto. He can control magnetic fields (and thus, to a large extent, electricity). Not only can he make your weapon fail weights, bend away from him every time you try to score, but he can probably just make the box go off every time he wants it to. If the Flash wore a stainless steel lame, it's over even quicker.
The Flash, while probably able to move much faster than Magneto can react (what with surpassing lightspeed and all), would still be limited to moving slow enough for the director to see in foil or saber, or at least moving slow enough to depress the tip long enough for the box to register (which, for him, would seem like an eternity when he's moving superfast).
Superman, aside from his speed and excellent perceptive abilities, wouldn't be that great of a fencer. Being invulnerable and superstrong don't help on the strip.
flash would win hands down... even if Magneto tryed to set off the sensors he would never get a touch flash is to fast. plus magneto would never stoop to cheating in a man to man duel. im guessing not many of you have read comics? but flash hands down, but flash vs super man would be a better bout but flash would still win cuz flash is "the fastest man on earth" yes that includes superman.

Flash doesn't stand a chance. His speed would be negated by having to stand on guard. Magneto could take control of Flash's blade, lame and mask before Captain America could even say "fence." Flash wouldn't be able to move himself or his weapon, allowing Magneto to score unchecked.
Unless someone develops non-metal fencing equipment, Magneto would beat everyone.
I accidentally voted for the wrong guy, and I don't even live in Florida.
