OK, it's late and I am trying to keep this short, so here's my latest string of garbage:
With the latest shootings in Pittsburgh, I can easily see the defense attempting an "affirmative" defense of Richard Poplawski.
So to create a slippery slope argument: If they DO go with an affirmative defense, the defense could go with the fact that he is mentally unstable and use as evidence that he subscribed to various right-wing conspiracy theories, and that these are what drove him to kill the police.
Building right along here: Once the defense manages an innocent by reason of insanity plea, legislative reps then turn to institutionalizing extremists based on the fact that they are subscribers to conspiracy theories!
