Array Will it be okay if I Rewire one of my foils with a leon paul wire and FWF tip and barrel? I'm assuming it would be but I didn't know for sure and I didn't want to put it all together to find out it doesn't fit right. Anyone know? -

As someone who uses Leon Paul tips on every weapon he has, if you can help it, don't use their wire. I'm assuming you're wanting to use a German style tip (FWF does make French style tips), so going off that, use either a German wire, or get your hands on the wires that F.net sells that are made by Gary Spruill. -

Array If you have an FWF barrel , use a German wire...either the Uhlmann/Allstar type or the Spruill (I sell them as well...haven't used ANY ogther wire for german tips since 2005).
The "french" tip FWF makes is not a true french like a Sport 7....it's a german barrel with a french type retaining system...frankly, a horrible design. Either way, it uses a German wire.
If you want a GOOD german tip...go the FWF Xtra....double thick barrel means the screw is much better protected, resists jams from denting like crazy, and uses a normal german tip. I've used and sold no other german foil point since they came out. -

Array As the above have said, no, you shouldn't use a Leon Paul (or French either for that matter) wire with a German tip (which is what most FWF tips are). You should use a German wire. Tags for this Thread
