College Fencing Entering Freshmen (and women) Does anyone have reliable information about where the top high school fencers (all three weapons, men and women) are going next year? -

Array Anyone who didn't do Early Decision has until May 1. While many decisions will be made before then, it's usually after then that the information gets around. -

Array From our club, we got 3 kids (ME) going to college next semester. Two are getting into Div I teams (BC - A08, Princeton - A09) while the other one into a club (Middlebury - B09). I know that Princeton is getting 2 ME fencers that are on the top 15 of the Junior ME list (out of 4-5 who are not yet into college). I also know that the only available top 5 WE fencer (the others are already in college or beyond) is going to Stanford. -

-m Dunno - I was following JEC's lead.
Arzoian
Amos
Taylor
from CA
all extremely fine and exemplary, hard workin' individuals; all pretty much ended up in schools of their choice IMHO. Randal : [after the fire at the Quick Stop] Terrorists?

For my part, I'll contribute what very little knowledge I have:
Evan Prochniak (5th, Jr. MS) is going to UPenn, I believe.

Beautiful school in a beautiful setting. They have a club team. It doesn't have a website. I can't recall seeing them at any of the New England-ey meets, and I may have invited them to a scrimmage they weren't interested in (I've forgotten who I targeted, but Middlebury fits in with the other people I was trying to make a connection with....) -

Until then, while some of these names and choices may be public knowledge, and some may be close enough that sharing is appropriate, the fact that some people may not post all the information they have or may have a twinge of concern before they do is not totally out of line.
Oh, and the kid going to Middlebury? Not going to be listed on the website. -
Very true but for the kids that have already committed/sent a deposit... I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Spencer Church has been trying to get a club off the ground for the last two years. I haven't heard how they are doing but we haven't seen them at either collegiate* club meets or at any local USFA tournaments yet. Good fencing in Middlebury is at the Vermont Fencing Alliance.
