Fencing schools

I have only been able to find one thread that talks about fencing school, but there was no contact info or anything more then they "were on top of the world at one point". Does someone have more detailed information on the subject, and does anybody have contact information (a website would be best). Specifically I am looking for full time fencing schools (if they exist) or summer long schools, things like that.

Cheers!

could you be more specific? there are hundreds of fencing schools across the US, and thousands around the world.

Knowing where you are, what weapon you fence and the experience level you have are absolutely required to answer your question. Also when you say School are you meaning a Middle/High/College type school that has a solid fencing program or are you just talking about a salle or club. A bit more information and we can help you out.

I am not really looking for a place to go, I am just wondering if there are schools out there. I have heard refrences, and I want to read more about them. In specific, I was thinking of schools (not salles or clubs) that run long programs (the way I have heard it described is like a college course or something similar), and what the best of these schools are called.

It sounds like you're looking for the master/coach training programs?

There have only been a few that existed over the years. The only one I knew well was the San Jose State Fencing Masters Program in San Jose, CA. They've been around quite awhile, although the last I heard, they were looking for a new home.

They are also known as a classical fencing program; don't get everyone started on what that means though. Talk to the people at the program about it.
