Health problems as well...the worst think about pet rescue is you generally don't know the health history...we had some wondferful kittens that suddenly died on up because they had something they'd been exposed to before they came to us.

The first kitten I adopted from a rescue group had been rescued from the city's kill shelter and thus had been exposed to certain problems that took almost $1,000 to cure. And the group has all animals screened by a vet BEFORE they're adopted. Such things still happen and if you adopt a rescue pet, you need to be aware that a clean bill of health is no guarantee.

Our second rescue kitten has had no health issues thus far.

Yep....there might be a genetic time bomb in there. All you can do is love them and take care of them until they go.
