Array New Idea I just had an idea. It came to me while I was playing a card game on the internet, and mulling over the day. Today I was walking and saw a very old man, rail thin with a walking stick. He could barely open the door. So I opened it and he barely was able to say thanks. Then I realized, that this man is so old, he was probably a WWII veteran. Then I thought about all the other veterans and even though I am not a veteran [except a former veteran fencer...] here it goes.
There are lots of 'retirement' condominium developed - why not someone pick up the idea to build retirement villages for retired veterans? And by extention, other veterans could be included depending on their age and so forth?
The ideal design would include a little putt putt; a few little shops here and there, mostly greenery - trees and shrubs and things like that - a little walking path here and there - maybe a little professional building or something like that. What do you people think? Play Inspector Gadget Music -

Array Third question: Politics section?
'tis a nice idea, though. "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -

Array Because veterans are the favorite football of politicians. There're probably not enough for them that's why so many are living on the streets; but that was just a look at one segment of the population; there are other population groups that could benefit from this as well; however, funding is generally is streamed through specific areas. For example: money goes to Uncle Sam - who doles it out to Each state's various Departments: Transportation, Housing, Law Enforcement, Department of Health, Dept. of Education etc and so on. Each Department is headed by a Director or Secretary who then takes a look at their needs - either by taking the advice of a needs expert in their department - or public opinion - or just by looking around the office - then they divvie up the money into each section within the department. So transportation could for example receive 1 million dollars that goes to the state of X. The director divides up the 1 million dollars to each of the cities in his state - and if there is a special project such as repaving a road, or replacing the lights in a major town they'll send money that way. The system is run that way, that's why it takes so long for money to 'trickle' down into your pocket, and why so many people are going looney trying to explain all of this - take a civics class. Array Viva! Let them eat smoothies!!! Speak of the devil! If it isn't Inquartata! Defend yourself knave in the name of the King! I was just down the street having a shave-ice and talking with the fellow about the french revolution, american revolution, and the irish famine. We decided that as long as the american public gets' its' $200. stimulus check in order to eat smoothies as it were we would probably never have another revolution.
