A year ago or maybe longer there was talk about women looking at Frank MacKenz's butt and that was all ok because the comment was coming from a women. But when guys say something, they're sexist and chauvenistic. So where were all you feminist/equalists? Why weren't you coming to the rescue of this poor person who the women only thought him of a piece of meat?

Everyone has a gender, therefore everyone has sex appeal. Why hide it? When you look at someone you immediately try to identify certain characteristics -- one of them is their gender. Are you ashamed of your gender? I'm sure you're not, so why are you taking offense when other people noticed it too?

Along those lines, here's a joke:
On a chain of beautiful deserted islands in the middle of nowhere, the following people are stranded...
Two Italian men and one Italian woman
Two French men and one French woman
Two German men and one German woman
Two Greek men and one Greek woman
Two English men and one English woman
Two Bulgarian men and one Bulgarian woman
Two Japanese men and one Japanese woman
Two Irish men and one Irish woman
Two American men and one American woman.

One month later, on this absolutely stunning deserted island in the middle of nowhere, the following things have occurred....

One Italian man killed the other Italian man for the Italian woman.

The two French men and the French woman are living happily together in a ménage a trois.

The two German men have a strict weekly schedule of alternating visits with the German woman.

The two Greek men are sleeping with each other and the Greek woman is cleaning and cooking for them.

The two English men are waiting for someone to introduced them to the English woman.

The two Bulgarian men took one look at the Bulgarian woman and started swimming to a different island.

The two Japanese men faxed Tokyo and are waiting for instructions.

The two Irish men divided the island into North and South and set up a distillery. They do not remember if sex is in the picture because it gets somewhat foggy after a few liters of coconut whisky. However, they are happy because the English aren't having any fun.

The two American men are contemplating suicide because the American woman will not shut up and complains relentlessly about her body, the true nature of feminism, what the sun is doing to her skin, how she can do anything they can do, the necessity of fulfillment, the equal division of household chores, how sand and palm trees make her look fat, how her last boyfriend respected her opinions and treated her a lot better than they do, and how her relationship with her mother is the cause of all her problems, and why didn't they bring a cell phone with them so they could call 911 and get them all rescued from this godforsaken deserted island in the middle of nowhere... so she can get her nails done and go shopping.

OK, you're comparing different things. When Purple Fencer talks glowingly of D'Asaro's girlfriend, everyone's fine with that. When girls talk about a how good a guy looks, everyone's cool with that too. When someone says 'Babes and Fencing don't mix' that is a different story.

That's insulting. If a woman had made such a general comment about men, I'm sure the reaction would be the same.

Beyond that though, it's the same uninteresting talk found on another chat board.

I'm sorry. I just read the original post and the replies after that. I get annoyed when the replies then get off of the original post's subject. If it would to help you, go back to the first page and read the part of the guy asking people where he can find babes in fencing -- then the consecutive posts about how much of an a$$ he is asking such a request. This is what was the story I was replying to. So my apology is for not posting what was relevant in your mind.

If you would do a search, you would find yourself wrong about double standards from SOME (disclaimer

) of the women who have posted here.

But you're finally right about all this being silly.

(I hope you weren't insulted about the 2 Greek guys...)

OK, I can see your point, although, I would have to say that phrasing of the original question also caused some problems. But yes, some people do have a double standard.

And sorry for jumping on you, but I'm just amazed that this thread has survived while other ones that are much tamer have been eliminated.

Your joke was very funny, not really offensive...

If I'm not mistaken, Fencing and Playboy have been already linked. Not that I would know from personal experience. Guys talk, you hear things.

BTW, Madonna's new video has some fairly decent fencing (before it degenerates into a free-for-all using every kind of weapon imaginable) and AMC's "Bond Girls" special had a good segment by the current babe about learning to fence, along with good video of her lessons.

Not one person in here said that Zelda is a good fencer. Again I know squat about Z but damn, I am sure she more to offer than a picture for someone to drool over.
A hot fencer should be a good fencer, an excellent fencer, a great fencer.

Is having to take vows of celibacy one of those new proprosed rule changes? I didn't see that subject covered in the version of the rulebook I downloaded off the USFA's web site.
