There's a guy in southern Oregon who fences with Bruno Goosens that is developing wood french grips. I guess he makes really high end pool cues as his day job. Bruno's son fences with us now and the wood grips are increadible. I've been using the coach Reith grips (when I use french) for 15 years and these blow them away.

What makes these particular wood grips different from the usual french grips? Is it a wooden version of the LP carbon fiber that someone suggested?

They are a bit thicker than the standard wood grips, have the shape of a pommel at the end and use an pistol grip nut. Because of this, they are extremely light and stiff. When holding one of Bruno or Niels' weapons, they are perfectly balanced and feel lighter when pommeling than my pistol grips.
