    Post your rating here!

Just interested. I am currently an E09, but my friends who are A's and B's say that I could be a C or so right now.

I have the curse of not attending enough tournaments... D07 in Sabre. Hope to have at least a D09 or a C09 by Nationals...
    It's relative.

Another triple U. I had an 'E' back in the mid 80s, but left fencing for 20 years before starting again. At 46 and still getting into shape, it's real work to fence 'E' and 'D' rated college students. I get my butt kicked, but and slowly improving, and having lots of fun.

There is a ratings portion of user profiles. You can just go look at the anyone's rating.

But then we don't get to wave around our ratings and say "Look at me! I'm so cool."

    U - Sabre

Eh, I don't think it's such a HUGE deal. While it may be a nice little ego boost when you win your first rating at a tournament, I don't think that when going into a tournament it is smart to look at your pool and freak out because there's a lot of rated people. I say this because in my first USFA tournament, I freaked out because I had to fence someone who was rated B. Letting that concern me probably made me fence worse, and not just do what I was taught during practice. Now, I try not to even bother looking at what they're ranked at. I just see what strip I'm supposed to be at, regardless of who's in it. I can tell a good fencer after the first couple touches. No need to put a lot of emphasis on ratings at all.

E09, epee and saber. Hoping to bump that epee one up in the next few months though. Darn tiny Inland Empire Tournaments!

I've heard an A say "Once you get past C, all ratings are good for is scaring E's and D's."

    D'09 in epee.
Been one touch from earning a C a couple times.
I stopped caring about other peoples ratings once, when I'd been fencing for a year, and I got a pool with 2 A's, two C's, and a D. I beat both the A's and a C, and lost to the other C and the D.
I could probably have a better rating if I lived somewhere else(Oregon is tough), but I'm faily happy with a D.

I guess it's not going to be too soon, but I'm going to do a 6g mild steel pipe cert. Or maybe stainless. Not quite sure yet.
