Where to start? I've registered so that I can read and participate in Fantasy Land. I would like to use the name Taiel for the story.
What I'd like to know is where should I start to read in order to get a feel for where everything is now so I can start to write?

Array make up a story. the best stories have started from incidences, both funny and sad, from their salles. generally, we start with a short paragraph, then the next person adds to the story. after about the 4th or 5th page, they become more involved in characterization, but they usually contain the same basic elements: intrigue, fencing, conflict, and resolution.

Array First you need to establish a character. After that, you need to find a way to introduce her into Arconia. (You could jump on with me if you wanted. I have a pretty fun, diabollical plot going at the moment. That is, if Arcon would ever get HOME! :P ) Your character can be a villian, a neutral, a side-switcher, a galliant Knight in Shining Armor...anything you want your character to be. I recommend reading up on some of the earlier posts. Wannabe has a point though...Swordsman is the Historian of Arconia. He'll point ya somewhere if you get lost. Array Heck, I'm the moderator of the forum and I get confused!! I hate to think what a new person has to deal with. Moonbeam (not to be confused with the court scribe Moontic) Welcome aboard. Basically find a way to get your character into Arconia, at the moment the best way would probably be as an observer to the competition (which BTW I promise I am going to write more on!) and then go from there. If you want to use a character which someone else controls, just check with them via Private message that it doesnt interfere with what they are doing. Other then that, let the creative juices flow! If you want to jump into a story with me I am in need of a personal maid.
Oops to get a feel for what is happening try "Return to Arconia" and "The competition" I think thats whats its called!

Array I must confess...I know Moonbeam. SHE & I went to school with Lord Tellurine.
We're working on getting everyone home! Tis very hard when one is writing about things that happened in the past!
And how can anyone ever be confused with the Lady Moon? Oh, wait...her evil sister Ken-Dall. "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."

Array Alright, now I feel bad. Where/when did Gwyen come in? tehe . My guess is the tourny. I was almost caught up on it, and then you guys went into a writing fest, and now I'm only on about page 3. hehe. What can I say I've been busy.
Moonbeam you are more then welcome to join the group coming home (Return to Arconia) I think that would also be another easy way in. I'm in that group as is Arcon (king of Arconia) and a few others. I can bet any of them, and myself will be happy to help you if you want to tag along. Just give us a jingle.
Yes, I most definatly it is taking a very Long time to get home. I would work on getting us there, but I don't exactly know what everyone else has in plan for Loch's funeral and such. I'm a little in the dark.
Oh well, again, welcome aboard, and have fun!

Array Hey Wannabe, I joined in at the tournament I've been reading for sometime and hopped in as a spectator at the tournament. I'm not sure where my character is going because I haven't been able to write lately. -

Array Oh! See I told you I can't keep up. I'm gonna have to print off the 800 pages of the Tourny, and just read them that way. Well I remember welcoming you, but welcome again, hope you're having fun, let me know if you have any questions, or need any help I'll be happy to ablige .

It's improv, wannabe. And those guys are STUCK. In fact, they've been in just about the same position for the last real-time month. If I were you, I'd just start writing and start getting yourselves home. At the rate it's going, the tournament may be over before you even get back.
Tellurine, where are you at? You've got probably a good half of the characters on the "Journey Home" thread. If anybody could start getting you guys back, it would be you! It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag. - Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC -

Array I spoke to Tellurine the other day. He's got rehersals like crazy & hasn't been home long enough to do much of anything. But he did *promise* to write next week. I'm holding him to it! "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
