There is a city in Georgia with a rather bold gun control law:
"Home owners mus have a gun" - and crime dropped way down after it was passed.

Not so much a gun control law, really...

We're the only country that has difficulty in shooting an illegal crossing the border.

I don't know about the ONLY one ( I have difficulty believing that Canada would do that, just as one example ). But do you know how Mexico treats people trying to cross it's southern border illegally? Brrr!

I subscribe to the theory that there are people in the world who probably should not have firearms of any kind.

Yes. The same probably applies to all the other rights we enjoy. ( I can think of one steel-obsessed person who probably shouldn't have the right to free speech, for instance. )

I don't know, but since my statement wasn't an example of SS it's really irrelevant.

In this case there is ample historical evidence that the outcome has in fact been as predicted. Evidence that Y frequently follows X is a pretty good way of supporting the contention that Y will follow X in a subsequent case...

At the risk of Godwinning the thread, Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia are often cited as examples.

I would also argue that there are many countries which have embarked on this path but have not quite yet reached the end of it---Britain, for example.

I would have thought the same thing, but Google "gun death rates by state".

Now try doing the same and ignoring the lists by advocacy groups like the VPC...

Gun control is not only coming but it will be a permanent end to our Second Amendment rights.

Thank God... no more listening to gun nuts. I'm not usually desirous of giving rights back to the Government but this one hurts everyone else more than it will ever hurt me.
