Flaming

I've been flamed alot on the board. I feel it's not all that bad, but i also feel we should distribute our flames fairly. I feel that we've been too lenient with Craig. I'll start:

Hehe, I am not shocked that we have been hesitant to add on!

I try to not take flame wars personal. I have very controversial thoughts, so naturally people who do not think right (read think like myself) will think I am crazy.

Provided a flame war is not unprovoked, and is not highly derogatory towards the person, I see no real problem with them.

When one chooses to ramble incoherently in a public forum it is inevitable that one's peers will take notice. They can then react or not. The ones that do react can be civil or nasty as they choose to comport themselves.
Just as you told me in an unsolicited PM, "when you post in a public bulletin board anyone can respond". Generally the awareness of this fact is enough to self edit most people.

Perhaps you could consider some of the comments on your posts to be constructive criticism?

I hope you find this one to be...

only one person would say "unsolicited pm" and that is his majesty himself. but what i am saying here is that the net is an OPEN FORUM, if you take things too personally, you'll become defensive. I only tried to show you that virtually anyone can click onto this forum, a nice person, a nut, a non fencer, anyone, and they could respond to it, and you wouldn't know where they're coming from; however by remaining fairly neutral, you can develop more insights [to yourself] and at the same time postit your position about politics, fencing, and the world. i think the key is: doing this while understanding that others will disagree with you, and you must be prepared in ADVANCE for this eventuality.
