Spring & Summer Camps We are excited to announce that we have two beginning foil fencing* day-camps running for Spring break this year (March 23-27, 2009) and many more during the summer (July & August, 2009)! Brief descriptions of camps are below, but there's plenty more info on our website at www.salemclassicalfencing.org (see the left menu for links to day-camps) or give us a call at 503-375-9209. We are located in Salem, Oregon. (Sorry, we cannot provide housing for these camps.)
*We also have a multi-weapon survey camp for those who have been fencing foil for at least 1 year. This camp is runs July 20-24th and is $150. It is suitable for kids ages 13-18. We will teach the basics of sabre and epee.
Camp descriptions:
Cadet fencing day-camps for kids ages 13 to 18 -- These camps are geared towards the beginning teen. We will teach the basic techniques and strategies of foil fencing, with a focus on honor, chivalry and respect. We emphasize form over competitiveness, but not to worry - by the end of the week you'll be fencing other campers! Half- and full-day sessions available. Half-day: $160 Full-day: $250
Musketeer fencing day-camps for kids ages 8 to 12 -- These camps are for our younger campers who are either just beginning or have been learning how to fence for less than 1 year. Our instructors will teach the basics of fencing, play fencing games, have a snack, and do some crafts. We will structure the day for all levels and abilities. Half- and full-day sessions available. Half-day: $140 Full-day: $210
