Level 5 Ref Question

I am a little confused after reading the flame war in the other post about level 5 ref's needed for qualifiers. Do you need one level 5 Ref for each weapon or just one for the whole deal? For example if we have a level 5 epee Ref do we also need a level 5 saber and foil Ref? I can't find any reference to this on the USFA site.

Thanks!

being logical... (not implying that the usfa is) you could view each tournament (sabre, foil, epee) as a seperate event... which would mean that you would need a 5 for each event. i dont think it would make sense for a level 5 epee ref to oversee foil and epee (or any one level 5 ref overseeing the other two events.) ... just a thought.

You can doublecount the person, but you need a 5 in each weapon. Ie if ref A has a 5 in epee and a 5 in foil and ref B has a 5 in sabre, the two of them give full coverage. Neither alone would be adequate.
