Dammit.
At least my fantasy football team is off to a good start. -

Array Gee, and is anyone surprised that T.O. thinks he did not get the ball enough on Sunday for the Bills to win? That there were missed opportunities, and he should have gotten the ball more.
It had begun, by week six he will be a plague. However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally take a look at the results. ~ Churchill

Array There's a bigger problem here in Buffalo than T.O. saying he didn't get the ball enough. I don't even think that's where he was going with that interview. My biggest issue with Owens was the way he stormed out of the locker room and refused to talk to the media. Being a team leader means you talk to the media, win or lose. You answer all the questions.
The bigger problem here is that two 16-year-old men from Hamburg (adjacent town to Orchard Park, where the Bills play and practice) spray-painted an "obscenity" onto the lawn in front of Leodis McKelvin's house. Regardless of the fact that McKelvin's fumble cost the Bills the game, this type of behavior is sickening. We had this before when Mike Mularkey was coach. His children were getting harassed at school. We as Bills fans are turning very ugly with our behavior. I won't even go to a game anymore, since the actions in the stands have turned downright despicable. We're becoming Philadelphia North, and I don't like it. Can't you, just this once, f*** off? -

Array A billion dollars - really? I'm a fan of the game, just not that particular team, and find the idea of that much money being spent on a stadium as a wee bit much. Seats 80,000 - 100,000 when you count the standing room seats. Are there that many people to get to a game. Do they want to be able to seat the entirety of Texas A&M.
And that video screen - thank goodness for it as it is the only way upper tier seats are going to SEE the game - but kickers around the league are going to start laying bets as to who can take the thing out.

On another note, that game was just sad, sad, sad. The defense needed to come up big, and they were just not present. Kolb was as good I could expect him to be. To expect him to score 30+ points was not reasonable, he did all he could, and the defense HAD to be better. Oh well.
At least the Cowboys lost!

Array OK...so now I'm starting to associate my Jets Hate with the coach. The players and fans...I've no problems there. Even Fireman Ed is OK. I just really don't like Rex Ryan.
I hate Snyder, but feel bad for the 'skins today. Of course, Detroit is a down dog, and it was heartwarming to see the players and fans celebrating after that game.
Buffalo...WTF? Well, I predicted doom when Buffalo contracted cancer...uh...T.O. Of course, I realize I have to respect Matt K's expertise in the field, but...this seems a familiar, if exceptionally fast result...
Does anyone think we'll see the Tuna on the field anytime soon? I don't think so.
Oh..I almost forgot...New England. I think that Welker is very important to Brady. -

I'm just disgusted at how many people dump it all on him...I'm sorry, but when you go for 350 yards and 2 TDs, you did your job. The Angel of Death Strikes!

Array Go Lions! Hopefully they will be able to pick up 2-4 more wins this season. I've been really hesitant to say this but from what I've seen of his other games and highlights from this one (*&%$ the blackouts) Stafford actually looks like he's going to be pretty good. Still making some rookie mistakes but has a good arm and his overall on field demeanor looks like that of a winning QB. If they can get a secondary and an offensive line in the next 5 years these guys could be decent. -

I'm sure he'll keep his mouth shut all season until he can cash in on a larger contract with another team next spring. Then he'll dump all over Buffalo and the Bills.
The problem here in Buffalo is that we have a lame-duck coach. Dick Jauron has had one winning season in his career and is headed for his fourth 7-9 season with the Bills. To sum up the problem, Buffalo faced a fourth-and-1 play with seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter while trailing the Saints by 10 points yesterday. New Orleans has the highest-scoring offense in the league, and Jauron decided to punt. New Orleans immediately scored a touchdown on the tired Bills defense and went on to win by 20. Way to go, Dick!
If the Bills had gone for it on fourth down and failed, I would be fine with the loss. But Jauron just continues to make poor choices in critical moments. The players love him, but he can't win. I've given him the benefit of the doubt for too long. It's time to make another change, which, of course, means another couple years of suck. *sigh*
On a side note, way to go Detroit! I was so happy to see the Lions finally get a win. Can't you, just this once, f*** off? -

However, it is conceivable in the situation that the Bills were in that they should try to make that conversion. Punting or giving the ball to Saints after the attempted 4th and 1 was not going to greatly impact the end-result of the game. You were losing, and running out of time to come back - at some point you need to take a chance.
Yes, the fans would still be disappointed with the outcome - both the game and the conversion attempt - but would feel better if the effort had been made. However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally take a look at the results. ~ Churchill
