Always be careful when writing/typing a book. An employer of mine had asked me to help her with a textbook for nurses. I agreed because my degree was in a similar field, and her book was for practical nursing. I thought about the lifecycle aspects for example. I contributed to her first four chapters, did proofreading, editing, etc. I made a clerical error in typing, I had typed re-direct rather than direct in a sentence. It took me aeons to track it down, write the publisher and make sure the error was corrected, [and it had already been changed apparently by their response].

But my lesson in this was never teach anyone how to use the computer for creative writing, or sit and 'chat' with 'friends' about professional level work because I never received payment for the product which is marketed on-line to thousands of potential buyers.

I think Jim Morrison was most influenced by Rimbaud though. Morrison tried hard to be a second Rimbaud but failed because his poetry only holds up when sung by Jim Morrison. Morrison could sing the most awful trash and make it sound wonderful somehow.

"Anything too stupid to be said is sung". - Voltaire.
What about Herman Hesse? Steppenwolfe comes to mind..... very trippy.

Here's a short story for you.

In 1980's I studied both Tae Kwon Do and Shotakan. In Taekwondo I went to green belt, which is fairly tame. I moved and couldn't find another teacher so I went into Shotakan and went to what they called: Double-Purple. Double purple is the rough equivilant to first brown, but he didn't like to bump us up too fast so he kept us at double purple. We studied Teki Shodan and the other lower level brown and black belt katas. I moved again and couldn't find another teacher. I met a guy from Japan who asked a lot of questions about me. He was sort of thin and had long curled black hair. A few of us went on a car trip to another city. During the ride he kept asking me more and more questions about where I was from and so forth. Since I had just moved up north, I told him where I was last from. Then he questioned me again about my sports activities. We were all in a car, driving and I really wasn't thinking too much about his line of questions. He tended to be sort of paranoid about people. So I patted him on the back and said -brown - don't worry. [but I was really double purple]. While we were walking with our group, a guy from nowhere suddenly reached out to grab his sleeve, using my double purple reflexes I brushed the guy away - no-one noticed a thing. Am I the only one who notices this stuff? Later, as we lounging around, the doorman rang his apartment and told him that a package was downstairs for him. He went to retreive the package and it was garbage from someone from the SGI. He looked at everyone in the room, feeling paranoid and thinking that someone in the room had left it there while he wasn't looking. We talked somemore and watched a karate film and he wanted to practice some kicks. That was the end of the story, but I was thrown off while we were driving. Someone else also asked me if I had 'ever seen a whale'. I couldn't believe the line of questions, I answered "yes". Somewhere in the back of my mind there was a whale. I had seem one but couldn't recall. Years later I remembered having seen one at SeaWorld Park named Shamu - does that count? Also someone had asked me if I had ever seen a Tornado? I thought I may have and said yes, does a video or film of a tornado count? And, does a water spout count as a tornado?
and finally, this evening, I lost my temper but was saved by the bell as a someone, helped me flag a taxi. I have been losing my cool lately, it may have been the asteroid that passed by us, missing the planet earth - just five hours ago.
