Hi,

I am doing a presentation on fencing in hopes of popularizing the sport and just giving a general overview. My audience is a group of young adults. To start, I would like to show an energizing video of various clips. Does anyone know of a good one?

I am looking for something like romania69's fencing video on Youtube, yet with fencing that is a little bit more clean. The energy in that video is ideal.

Please let me know if you come across anything. All suggestions are appreciated.

"Fencing well" does not mean "beautiful to see" but just "hitting" the opponent. To say that the important thing is to "fence well" doesn't mean anything. The concept of fencing well is abstract; the best fencer is the one who wins.

A rather limited perspective. We all have the ability to fence as well as we are able. Few of us have the ability to win an A4 tournament. So, slash your wrists when you loose, or fence to the best of your ability? Give up fencing because I will never be world champ? Enjoy life, lighten up.

You're wrong. Among other things that don't relate directly to winning, fencing does have an aesthetic component.

Every person decides what good fencing is to them, and looking good is a big part of it for some people.

You're not arguing with what he said. He said skill in fencing is judged by winning, and you're saying just do your best.

I am saying you are always judging your own fencing. Sometimes someone else is also. If the only criteria is winning then most peoples fencing sucks because everyone has lost, even when they thought they may have fenced well.

A bit off the topic however.

I originally meant that if the winning criteria were used then lots of 15-2, 15-1, 15-0, bouts should be very instructive to watch. Entertaining too.
