Array Dedicated to Inq Well I haven't been here on f.net very long, but already I know that this is probably the most grammatically correct internet forum I have ever been a member of. I ran across this video on youtube, and immediately thought of Inq, so here's to you and the (somewhat) grammatically correct internet forum of f.net. Yo Comments Are Whack! -

Array You really shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition. Can't you, just this once, f*** off? -

The student responds: "We, herah at Hahhvaard, do not end sentences with prepositions."
So Joe-Bob, looks the student up and down and says, "Excuse me, sir, I sincerely apolgize for my improper use of grammar, so if I may, I'll rephrase my interogative. Could you please inform me as to where the administration building is at, a*****e?" -

Array From the book "Planet of the Umps: A Baseball Life From Behind the Plate" by Ken Kaiser:
Lou Pinella was at bat, and I called a strike on him. It was a good pitch, but he didn't like it. He stepped out of the box and looked back at me. Hey, where was that pitch at?," he asked.
"Time," I yelled, and said, "Lou, you're a college graduate, aren't you?"
He nodded his head. "Yeah, so?"
"So? So didn't they teach you in college that you're never supposed to end a sentence with a preposition?"
Lou thought about it for a minute, then said, "You know what, you're absolutely right. Where was that pitch at, a$$hole?" Can't you, just this once, f*** off? -

Array A humorous retort alone does not refute the charge.
The video is good, although I would argue that the term should be "whacked", not "whack". :P Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Array We should have more threads devoted to Inq. Actually, we should just forget fencing and devote the whole site to him. -

A thread dedicated to Inq - always a good idea, but why is this thread not in Latin? Where are the puns? Get with it, guys "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -

Apparently there is no firm proof that he ever actually said it. At least he never wrote it...

Array So, I'm somewhat new to the forums and don't know a lot about the individuals who contribute to the threads here. Inquartata, is there a particular reason why you're so big on grammar? I'm not saying anything for or against this, I'm just curious as to why it's such a big deal. Perhaps, since this thread is dedicated to Inq., there should be some sort of list of reasons as to why he has warranted his own thread ! "Fencing is a sport where physical attributes seem not as important as determination."
