While at a recent tournament I caught wind of "the Liberty Cups". I was just wondering wat they were.

These events have been designed to maximize the number of competition bouts for fencers of all skill levels -- from youth (under 12 and 15) to those with ratings ranging from "E" to "A". Younger and less seasoned fencers begin the competition early, with formats that offer maximum experience with their peers. Increasingly higher rated and nationally ranked fencers are seeded into successive rounds of the competition, culminating with the introduction of "A's," "B's" and national team members at the concluding phase.
