Array Could you look up the individual schools web site, they may post it on there sports web?
But they may not post that quickly.

Any results from this weekend's college fencing? Do you mean the multi-meet at Penn today? If so, there's this report on the Penn website. -

I imagine she'd like to know the results of the Dook team. I know they lost to UNC, I'm pretty sure they lost to NU. Oiuyt would know for sure, but I believe TU was victorious in their outing as well. I'm pretty sure I watched them beat SHU pretty soundly. I have no clue whether they fenced Drew or what the result was if they did, although I'd hazard to guess that they came out on top. I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

I thought the same thing, and then noticed Duke and Penn were two of the teams that did NOT face each other today...so I guess that took Duke off the Penn media radar.
Losing to UNC? That always bruises a Dukester to the bone... "Sometimes we, as coaches, get into that dictator mode where you just tell and you don't listen and you don't try to understand them." Tom Izzo, Mich. St.

Array So Duke went all the way up to UPenn and did'nt fence them?
I thought these large meets were treated like a round robin (Fence every school that shows up). -

Array That's what I thought--round robin--but in the 7 rounds listed, Duke and Penn didn't seem to face each other in the women's event.
Obviously, there is an inside joke here with Epeemike and the Cohen Brothers, but since I don't know what it is, I'll merely point out that the lads fence tomorrow. There were 8 schools involved in total: Penn, Temple, Duke, UNC, Drew, Northwestern, Sacred Heart and FDU. Seven rounds. I'm not sure any school fenced more than 5 opponents. [edit: correction- SHU, FDU, Duke and UNC each fenced 6 rounds] Originally Posted by bigdawg2121 Oiuyt would know for sure, but I believe TU was victorious in their outing as well. I thought these large meets were treated like a round robin (Fence every school that shows up). Nope. They get a bunch of teams into the same gym and then schools fence schools that make sense to build a season-long schedule.
For instance we (Temple) didn't fence Penn today. We'll fence them on the 25th at Princeton. We fenced UNC, and Duke today and will fence them both again at Princeton. We're scheduled to fence UNC a third time on February 1st at Northwestern, but that won't officially count (the NCAA limits teams to two meets that count towards the standings). We also fenced Northwestern today and will meet them again when they host us on the 1st. We fenced Drew today but won't fence them when we're both at Princeton or on the 8th when we're both at Steven's Tech. It can get complicated.
Temple results today: Temple 19 - 8 UNC Temple 24 - 3 Drew Temple 22 - 5 Sacred Heart Temple 13 - 14 Northwestern Temple 17 - 10 Duke

I'm afraid you give me too much credit... no inside joke. I'm just amused by a foil squad of Cohen, Cohen, and Cohen.

You'd think that since my daughter is now a junior, I'd be used to the lack of information about NCAA meets throughout the season, but it still drives me nuts. Few college websites provide more than the most minimal information and what results show up appear days later, when the sports information staff gets around to the minor sports.
I'd love to be able to follow collegiate fencing in more detail but details simply aren't available. (Even Brad doesn't post enough info for my taste.)
So, anybody up for more serious results posting on fencing.net? (She says, knowing she can't herself contribute to any such effort, living nowhere near any collegiate fencing--and far away from the schools that interest her.)

Array Ahh...Cohen (cubed).
Silly me.
So, Brad, does the fencer who lost the deciding bout against Northwestern (and keeeping your squad from sweeping) have some extra push-ups in their immediate future? At least 5 fencers lost "the deciding bout"--it's a team sport, and each one of those 14 losses is just as important as the rest. Similar Threads -
