    *sigh*

It's a tactical HYPERBUSH now, don't you know? And as a truly multidimensional tactical structure it is both profound AND complex.

    *grin*

    So nyah!

That is a good point. When to lunge is not the most amazing question.

Don't worry, it was a good question.

There's a difference between when to lunge and the tactics necessary to set up that moment for a lunge.

What's the point of this thread if not to discuss the issue of lunge timing on F.NET?

And Dan should know that it's generally considered ill-form to use this forum to drive traffic to his own blog. He is Dan K after all, and we kinda cut him some slack in the beginning because of that, but if I wanted to get updates on his blog entries I'd subscribe to his RSS feed.

    James.
According to a few websites I looked at, it's not considered bad-form to use forums to drive traffic to other sites. Besides, the questions people are asking me and my answers are driving conversations here. I'm not hosting a competing forum on my site.

Just as you have the choice not to subscribe to my RSS feed, you also have the choice not to read the conversations about my posts here. Don't read and comment, and then complain about having to read it.

Also, you don't have to like or agree with my answers, but they are the things helped make me successful at fencing.

Your site has some good stuff, I bookmarked it myself. But I have to go with jBirch on this one. I have my own fencing-related site as well and I do get traffic from F.net. But I don't start a new thread every time I make a post. I think an occasional announcement and signature link is sufficient.

(I hope other offenders are reading this thread, too. )

I guess I'm just we're just going to have to amicably agree to disagree. Though I do like your idea of adding links to my signature.

When is the Best Time to Lunge?: Part 2

When is the Best Time to Lunge?: Part 2

So as I promised in the first part of this post, here are some drills to improve your lunge and your ability to recognize your lunge distance in a bout. (They require a partner and should be done hooked up to a machine.)
