Array Why does the womens professional billiards association even exist? Pool is a sport of finesse and brains.
Not strength or speed.
A sport where men and women really are equal.
So why is there a womens billiards association?
I don't get it. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array Because the male level of competition is predictably higher?
Besides, if that's not the case, there are associations for everything. Find some group, like male-to-female, obese Asian transexuals, and if there's more than two they'll probably have their own organization. -

Array In a cursory search for mixed gender cue-sport competition, what I found was this: http://www.upatour.com/current-ranking.php
It is not exactly dominated by women.
Actually, now that I looked through it completely, I'm not sure that's a mixed gender list at all. I think there might just be some guys with feminine names on it.

Array Then the real question is why men are much better at pool than women. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Array i think low womens rankings probably has something to do with the fact that pool was traditionally a men's game and a lot of women just aren't trying it. Why they have a seperate league, who knows. -Sabresque

Array Because they can.
It means that more people get to hold office in organizations and engage in political and bureaucratic infighting. Human beings do love that stuff. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -
odds are it was not started because the sexes themselves were inherently inequal on skill levels, but inequal in treatment/events/coverage/whatever -
The average female member of the American Poolplayers Association is a skill level 3, while the average male member is a skill level 4. (SLs go up to 7).
I would predict that this is a historical artifact of men playing it longer and participating in the association for longer. Certainly in my experience the turnover of female members seems somewhat higher than men. I could also believe there may be some slight advantage in spatial visualisation, etc that is involved. -

Array This is the problem when i hear groups proclaiming "women can do anything a men can do just as good or better"
Why did they have to add that last part in? Sure you may feel like you're discriminated against. Sure you might not have the same opportunity. I would have been happy being equal with you, but now because you tried to assert your superiority over me, i have to destroy you.
Just kidding.

Array I've never seen a pool table in a sorority house. If you have, please send me the address - those girls have to be cool. Well, The Rock says you didn't get that touch because your roo-dee-poo director missed the call. No, The Rock says you didn't get the touch because you absolutely suck! http://coletrainfencing.blogspot.com -

Ever heard of those strange descriptions of a person belong to groups A, B, C etc. simultaneously, a combination so strange so that one would never have thought it up had one not read it?
Well, some time ago, I was reading about Idaho on Wikipedia. there was a list of notable people from that state, among them: A bisexual Guatemalan-american woman with dwarfism from Idaho, working as an XXX actress. How many of those can there be?
Happy Xmas!

Array To be fair— isn't every person in porn bisexual? There was a classified add for a local company here in town, and none of the guys were required to be gay or bisexual, but they did have to be willing to "finish" on other guys... Similar Threads -
