Array Jan 19 Day of Service President-elect Barack Obama is calling on Americans across the nation to volunteer in the January 19 Martin Luther King Day of Service. The upcoming Martin Luther King Day falls on the day before Obama’s historic inauguration. The President-elect will celebrate King Day along with Vice-President Joe Biden and their families by volunteering in a service project in Washington, D.C. and will be calling on all Americans to join him in ongoing active citzenship. “I will ask for your service and your active citizenship when I am president of the United States,” Obama said. http://www.mlkday.gov/about/newsroom...tbl_pr_id=1171
At the same time, another group is calling upon all of us to come together for a different reason http://baptistsforbrown2008.wordpres...-of-atonement/
Quote:
Please e-mail your Christian friends and relatives and let them know that the Lord Jesus has commanded that January 19, 2009 be recognized throughout the world as a Day of Atonement.
Gather at noon on that day and drop to your knees(wherever you may be) to beseech the Lord to spare the country He so loved, but allowed to kill itself. January 19, 2009 will be the last day that America will exist under godly rule. After that day, we will be under the thrall of Satan. Heaven help us!
End quote.
Personally, I'd like to know how Lord Jesus issued this command. Was it a burning bush or a text message?

Array Gee, and I thought the day of atonement was Yom Kippur.
Unfortunately on the 19th instead of doing service, as I would like, I will have be at work finishing a project. However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally take a look at the results. ~ Churchill

Array You KNOW what my answer is.
I mean, what if the world ends on January 18th? There's no option for that! Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -
