Is askfred.net down?

I can get to other sites, but askfred.net seems to be down for past 2 hours. Is it just me?

So I guess that means the DNS record is messed up?

Its pretty tough having FRED down on a weekend - I'd send the webmaster a note but can't locate his email address since the website is down.

although that would do you little good if its a dns routing issue.

you can just yell a lot in this thread and he'll come and look.

I talked to Peet at the NAC C today. He doesn't know what's up with FRED at the moment, and if it's down, well, the best he can do is receive an email saying that FRED is down.

FRED did in fact have a web server problem which should be all fixed now (apache restart needed plus clearing stray semaphores).
Please accept my apologies for the lapse in service.

BTW, that "Huh? doesn't look like a site on the interwho" message is actually just downforeveryoneorjustme.com's default message for when the site isn't reachable.

Thanks, BTW, to the several emails, one phone call and one in person message I got regarding this issue.

its the message when there's an issue resolving the dns entry. i was having problems getting a whois on the domain, also, from some places.
