    Puma Speed Cat

Hello all I have been wanting a pair of these shoes for a while, and was wondering, since they appear to be a slim, athletic shoe with a flat rubber sole if anyone uses them for fencing? Or if anyone owns these can you write a review and give reasons why or why you do not use them for fencing?

Are they a real athletic shoe for another sport or one of puma's numerous "lifestyle" shoes. If it is not designed for a sport then I would not fence in the shoe - it will not have enough support and probably not take the abuse. Of course if you are young enough and don't worry about things like your joints or back, this shoe may work out.

I'm not going to make another shoe recommendation, because you can do a search on that.

No, don't fence with it unless you don't planning on doing any real footwork.

So, they would be ok for epee fencers then.

These are casual shoes; you can buy them at your local Marshalls/TJMaxx

I know a couple people who have/had them and they really would be terrible for your feet if you plan on doing any dynamic footwork in those. (no cushioning for heel, articulated arch support, etc.)
Those shoes also are pretty narrow on the toes and won't let your feet naturally spread out as much as the LPs or even the ballestras.

Thanks for all your replies! I tried on a pair today and they were really comfortable, but I realized that the sole was a very hard, almost slick rubber that didn't seem like it would stick very well to a piste (at least the ones at my club). Thanks against for all the imput!
