2002 World Cup Winner Benoit Bouysset will coach and coordinate this summer camp at Katy Blades Fencing Academy.

Each daily session is 1 pm - 4 pm and will include private lessons with coach Bouyset. The cost is $200 for each four-day session, and the first twelve fencers to make a payment for each session will reserve the spot. Benoit will be assisted by coach Joseph Reeve.

Benoit has held camps in San Diego this past summer, and will customize the camps to the levels of the fencers. There will be sessions on strategy, strip tactics, rules and personal training.

Maître Benoît Bouysset is the 2002 World Champion Maître d’Armes, Epée.

Maître Bouysset has more than 15 years of experience, having practiced competitive fencing in épée at regional, national and international levels. He has won numerous medals and awards, including the 2002 World Championship Maître d’Armes in Bad Wildungen, Germany and reached the highest ranking of 60 in Men Epée in France in 1997. In January 2008, Bouysset won the gold medal at the BladeRunner tournament in Men Epée, University of California, San Diego.

Maître Bouysset completed a one-year training for Maître d’Armes at the prestigious Centre National de Formation à l’Escrime in Chatenay Malabry, France. He is the Founder and Head Coach of several annual fencing camps both in France and in the United States. In 2008, he established winter and summer fencing camps in San Diego, California.

Maître Bouysset is currently the Head Coach for the fencing clubs of Castres and Revel in the southwest of France, where he teaches recreational and competitive fencing to over 150 fencers.

Maître Bouysset is a member of the FFE, USFA, and Comité Directeur de l’Académie d’Armes de France.
